Circa 1825-48 American, folky forged iron Dragoon soldier, seated upon his horse on a decorative stand, over a painted wood and zinc base containing a bird house 37" h. This charming  piece of folk art was made during the American- Mexican conflict that terminated in the US / Mexican War. Provenance: the personal collection of William H. Guthman.
Early 19th C. double portrait silhouettes, hollow cut with watercolor. The woman wearing her head cap, holding her book or perhaps a fragment mirror. The period frame measures 8 1/4" wide by 6" deep.
